Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Arrive in Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel. Rest and prepare for your flight to the eastern part of the country.
Day 2: Flight to Dire Dawa & Harar
Take a short flight to Dire Dawa and drive 50km to the walled city of Harar. In the evening, witness the famous “Hyena Man” as he calls and feeds wild hyenas by hand outside the city gates. Overnight in Harar.
Day 3: The Walled City of Jugol
Spend the day inside the 16th-century walls of Harar (Jugol). Visit the colorful Islamic markets, the Arthur Rimbaud House, the Harari Cultural Museum, and the birthplace of Emperor Haile Selassie. Explore the narrow alleys and vibrant atmosphere of this historic city. Overnight in Harar.
Day 4: Aweday Market & Departure
Drive back to Dire Dawa, stopping at the Aweday market, the largest “khat” market in the world. Transfer to the Dire Dawa airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa, followed by a farewell dinner and your international departure.
