Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the capital. Overnight in Addis Ababa.
Day 2: Drive to Arba Minch via Tiya & Dorze
Drive south to Arba Minch, stopping at the Tiya Stelae and the Wolayta people’s museum in Sodo. Continue to the Dorze village to see their unique bee-hive shaped houses and learn about their weaving traditions. Overnight in a lodge in Arba Minch.
Day 3: Nech Sar NP & Lake Chamo
Morning visit to Nech Sar National Park to see zebra, gazelle, and antelope. After lunch, take a boat ride on Lake Chamo to see huge crocodiles, hippos, and abundant birdlife. Overnight in a lodge in Arba Minch.
Day 4: Drive to Jinka via Konso
Drive to Jinka with a stop in Konso. Visit a Konso village to see their UNESCO-listed terracing and “Waga” wooden statues. Continue to Jinka for the night. Overnight in a resort.
Day 5: Mursi Village & Mago National Park
Drive through Mago National Park to a Mursi village, famous for the clay plates worn by women in their lower lips. Return to Jinka to visit the local museum and nearby villages. Overnight in a resort.
Day 6: Drive to Turmi & Key Afer Market
Head to Turmi, the heart of Hamer territory. Stop at Key Afer to visit the local market, where various tribes gather to trade. Overnight in a lodge in Turmi.
Day 7: Omorate & Hamer Village
Drive to Omorate on the Omo River to visit the Dassenech/Geleb tribe. Return to Turmi to explore a Hamer village, known for their elaborate hairstyles. You may have the chance to witness a bull-jumping ceremony. Overnight in a lodge in Turmi.
Day 8: Excursion to Karo Village
Morning drive to Murille to visit the Karo tribe, masters of body painting. Enjoy the views of the Omo River before returning to Turmi for an afternoon of rest. Overnight in a lodge in Turmi.
Day 9: Return to Arba Minch
Drive back to Arba Minch via the Arbore and Tsemaye tribal areas. Stop for lunch in Konso before arriving at your lodge for the evening. Overnight in Arba Minch.
Day 10: Return to Addis Ababa
Drive back to the capital, stopping for lunch at Lake Langano. Spend the late afternoon shopping for souvenirs in Addis Ababa before a farewell dinner and transfer to the airport.
