Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Blue Nile Falls & Portuguese Bridge
Your journey begins with a morning drive from Bahir Dar to the village of Tiss Abay. Upon arrival, you will set out on a walk to explore the spectacular Blue Nile Falls, locally known as “Tis Isat” (Smoke of Fire). You will also visit the historic 17th-century Portuguese Bridge, the first stone bridge in Ethiopia. Throughout the day, you can enjoy the scenic surroundings and local nature before settling in for an overnight stay in Tiss Abay Village, allowing for a deeper connection with the area.
Day 2: Swimming & Local Market Experience
Start your morning with a refreshing swim or a relaxing break by the banks of the Blue Nile River. Afterward, you will explore the vibrant local village market to experience the daily life of the community. This is a perfect opportunity to interact with locals and, if you choose, participate in a traditional coffee ceremony. In the afternoon, you will take the return drive back to Bahir Dar.
